Love

On this Valentine’s Day it is of great importance to remember the great chapter of Scripture that defines love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a states, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”

Please note the negatives and the positives in God’s definition of love.

Positive: Patience, kindness, rejoices with truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, never ends.

Negative: does not envy, is not arrogant, is not rude, doesn’t insist on its own way, not irritable, not resentful, does not rejoice in wrongdoing.

How does your love life measure up to these standards? The ones that are closest to you should know your love by these characteristics!
