Our Hope

I love the verse found in 1 Peter 1:12. “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Our focus, calling, hope, assurance, and future is all wrapped up in one event! The Return of Jesus Christ is our future! What a glorious event it will be! The Bible says, “every eye shall see Him, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord”. This verse in Peter states that “all grace” will be brought to you on that day. What a day that will be! I am ready for it, it is my assurance and confidence!

Two Things Jesus Did for Us at Calvary

In my Good Friday message, I shared the two things Calvary gave us that John writes about in his epistle. 1 John 2:1-2 says that Jesus became our Advocate and our Propitiation. Jesus comes alongside of us when we approach God, and He covers us with His shed blood when we attempt to come into the presence of a holy God. Grasping these two concepts will bring great joy to the true believer.

Another Thought on Easter

For me, the greatest and neatest part of Easter, is Sunday morning. With all the horrendous activity that our Lord went through for us, it makes Sunday the most wonderful day! I love happy endings! Nothing can compare to the ending of Easter Week! The ending of Easter Week is actually the Beginning! We worship on the first day of the week, every week, because He arose! He is The Resurrection and the Life! Are you alive in Christ? Do you make the first day of the week significant for His sake?

An Easter Thought

With the greatest holiday approaching, I hope to get you thinking about the greatest event that ever occurred. It is the Gospel Message, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The prophet Isaiah, 600 years before it ever happened, told us that He would be “despised and rejected by men”. This is the Son of God, the Creator, and the created are going to reject Him! Wow! And sure enough, 600 years later we read in the Gospel of Matthew, “And plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill Him.” (Matthew 26:4) Imagine being one of the crowd, one of the conspirators to plot and desire the murder of Jesus, The Son of God!

But your sin and my sin is why He came and “laid down” His life! (2 Corinthians 5:21) He loves you so much that He took the abuse of humanity, for your salvation!

May nothing we do ever take away from the glory, praise, and adoration He deserves!
